Labor and Facility Management consists of technical support services, operations services and quality management
- Technical Support Services - Includes system performance and tuning, diagnostics and problem resolution, installation of fixes, software optimization, research and development, backup and recovery, standards and procedures, capacity planning and ensuring availability.
The following areas are included in these services:
- System Software Support - installation, maintenance and customization of database management systems and all associated products. Current operating systems supported include OS 390, Solaris, NT, AIX and HP UNIX.
- Disk Space Management Services provides support, control and management for installed disk space and includes naming standards, usage standards, archiving of files when required and the optimization of disk space usage.
- Performance Evaluation, Hardware and Software Audits and Tuning includes the collection of statistics, analysis of statistics, customization of system and database management parameters, hardware and software audits and the provision of management information.

- Operations Services includes:
- Operating Functions - Ensuring the availability of applications according to the service level agreements. Duties include the effective running of applications according to schedules and relevant operations manuals, monitoring and problem prevention and referral to the Service Desk.
- Media Management - Media management includes quality assurance and validation of output and compliance with security regulations. Other services are the operating of the tape library, monitoring backup media for possible defects, providing statistics on backup media and automated library usage and the availability of inventory (magnetic media and paper).
- Computer Resource Usage and Information Management offers an extensive billing and resource usage statistics system. This enables wide reporting with regard to the usage of processing resources per user and per unit of work and utilization of resources. Other services provided are the operating and maintaining of the capacity management statistics system.
- Configuration Management consists of the coordination of configuration control in conjunction with support groups and application system management. Services include configuration management for all hardware, planning and coordination of installations and environmental management.
- Capacity Planning is aimed at ensuring that the data centre infrastructure requirements for the achievement of the agreed service levels are achieved. Services include capacity planning, bench marking, reporting and providing assurance that the financial expenses related to data processing equipment are scientifically determined and motivated.
- Quality Management Standards and Procedures - compiling and maintaining procedures like emergency procedures, security policy, general administrative policy, ISO9001 procedures and facility operational procedures.
- Audit Service - continual monitoring of the mainframe facilities' compliance with prescribed operating standards, accuracy of operating statistics and reporting, risk analysis, data security, disaster recovery and contingency planning and quality assurance of all procedures.
- Service Level Management and Administration - This service includes the furnishing of specialized expertise and management in support of the customers with regard to: Management of the contracted service level in terms of the contract; Problem Management; Risk Management; Contingency Planning; and Configuration Control.
- Data Centre management - Infrastructure supplied for providing the mainframe facility includes consumables, cleaning services, rental services, electrical installation of equipment, creating of data centre environmental plans and managing of sub-contractors. This service can also be provided for customer-owned data centers and infrastructure as a facilities management service.
- Software Licence procurement and management - procurement and management of all software licences and software maintenance agreements.
- Hardware Maintenance Service - Preventative and corrective maintenance of the hardware and peripheral devices utilized in the data centre environment. This service includes computer equipment and directly coupled peripheral devices but excludes the front-end processors and related network equipment and infrastructure, the maintenance of which is provided by other business units within SITA.
- Printing Services - High-volume printing, impact printing of preprinted cheques and statements, binding/bursting of printing, distribution and courier service, one-step mailing, packaging, forms design and image scanning and printing generated by means of magnetic media. Additional services include receiving and coordination of user requests with regard to output, coordination of binding of output, receiving and dispatching of tapes, printouts and schedules.
- Hosting / Housing Services - Hosting of applications and housing of servers for customers.
- Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation Service - Risk analysis, compilation and implementation of disaster recovery plans, infrastructure provision for recovery in disastrous time.
